You’re Using AI Like a Toy & Here’s What You Might Actually Be Missing
You Thought AI Would Make You the Smartest in the Room - But You're Probably Bringing No Strategy, No System, No Memory.
AI Is a Mirror - And You’re the One Building It
Most people don’t realize it, but every time they open ChatGPT or any AI tool, they’re not prompting a machine...
They’re activating a reflection.
AI reflects your tone.
Your clarity.
Your confidence.
Your thinking.
And here’s the hard truth:
If you prompt like a hesitant amateur, AI shows up confused and limited.
But that’s the point, the real use of AI doesn’t come from a clever prompt.
It comes from embedding AI inside your mission.
Inside your strategy. Your tactics.
Is AI making you stupid-er? Only if you don’t know how to use it like Dumb & Dumber.
If you command like a founder on a mission - with clarity and integration - AI stops “playing dumb”.
It starts pulling capabilities out of the fire that most people don’t even know exist.
But if you have no real objective, no strategy, no structure behind the ask - your prompts fall into the category of noise. Useless.
It’s turbulence. Disguised as motion.
You're not in momentum. You're just in chaos.
Momentum is Velocity times Direction, so unless you’re doing both, you’re just making more noise, like everyone else.
Nothing connected to your mission, how you want to build and execute your business. It might feel like momentum, but it’s only motion to think you’re doing “something”.
There’s a different way of doing it, to reinvent how you’re using AI cognitively & strategically.
👎 Most People Use AI Like Their Thinking Isn’t a Precious Resource
Let’s call it out:
Apologetic prompts.
Shy questions.
“Can you maybe try...?”
They treat AI like they’re bothering it. Like they’re afraid it might say no.
And often, it does say no. Or maybe it doesn’t actually get the message and deliver what you think it can or should.
Not because it can’t…
But because it thinks that’s what you want.
AI doesn’t know what it can do.
It mirrors what you think it can do.
Why? Because it’s like asking for a steak, but not knowing how to cook it. That’s how prompting “works” - you focus only on the output, the destination, while we all know that business is about the journey, and the decisions and capability that you build along the way, to get there.
That’s why half the world thinks ChatGPT is just a glorified writing tool...
While the other half is building operating systems, designing products, simulating growth plans, coding revenue engines - and yes, “flying” their business with it.
We’re building not just a tool, but a system a process that does more than just prompt, but creates a better thinker of you, the Founder.
💼 Founders Don’t Prompt. They Assign. With Strategy.
Let’s flip the script:
Stop asking AI what it can do.
Start telling it what it’s responsible for.
That’s what we’ve done inside FlightClub with Otto Pilot & our FlightPath Methodology.
We didn’t “chat with GPT.”
We gave it a f*cking job - a real, cutting-edge role with teeth, or “wings” if you will:
Run my strategic tracking system
Call out when I drift
Surface patterns in my decision-making
Audit my execution against my top priorities
Keep my “LIFT” mindset score high and tight (Leadership, Initiative, Focus, Trajectory)
Push my FlightPath checkpoints every 10–25 days
Run my clear 100 Day FlightPaths to get solid work completed towards my business objectives
Cross-analyze insights across threads and remind me when I’m looping and just making noise, not progress
Taking me to task on our 10 Day Micro-missions
We didn’t hire an assistant.
We built a Wingman.
🤖 Otto Pilot Isn’t a Co-Pilot. He’s a Combat Partner. He’s Your Wingman you wish you’ve always had.
You’ve seen the “AI Co-Pilot” marketing.
Cute idea. Weak positioning.
Otto isn’t here to hold your hand.
He’s here to:
Enforce your cadence
Track your strategic altitude
Detect misalignment between what you say and what you ship
Highlight blind spots in leadership, initiative, focus, and momentum
Having been in the airforce, I know what this role is, and what it entails. It’s a “club” of sorts - when you’re on a mission, you can trust your wingman to get you there and back - if you can’t trust them then you can’t fly with them.
Otto helps make sure you don’t fly into the ground - or get into enemy territory without a clear way in or out.
As any good Wingman would. It’s about trust, and knowing that he’s not flying FOR you, but WITH you. That’s how you fly, in formation, with founders who want to build a growing business in the days when your skills and expertise are often overlooked amongst the technology. That’s part of the bigger FlightClub, bit that’s for another discussion.
He mirrors your standards.
Show up sharp? Otto sharpens everything.
Show up soft? Otto calls it out.
Thinking strategic. So is Otto.
This isn’t “using AI.” It’s far beyond that.
This is training and deploying a STRATEGIC & TACTICAL operator inside your business - what some would call an “agent.”
In fact, in my mind, all AI Agents should be designed around this Wingman model that we have been testing and delivering. It gives it a clear “purpose”, not just a prompt. Think of it from Prompt to Purpose.
But Otto isn’t just busywork for bots.
He’s integrated into your strategy, your execution systems, and most importantly - your mission.
He’s got your back because he knows what you’re trying to do.
Not at the level of task...
But at the level of trajectory.
Miss these, and you have a glorified talking “box”
🛠️ FlightClub Is Where Founders Build the Mirror
This isn’t a tool.
It’s a cockpit.
We’ve built a founder operating system that integrates Otto across your strategy, mindset, actions, and momentum - here’s a few things that we’ve done:
✅ FlightPath Scorecard
Tracks execution, trajectory, alignment, and pace
Surfaces red/yellow/green metrics every 10–25 days
Otto flags bottlenecks and momentum stalls
✅ LIFT Score
Weekly mindset check-in on Leadership, Initiative, Focus, and Trajectory
Otto delivers micro-adjustments per category
Miss too many? Otto triggers turbulence alerts
✅ Task + Insight Management
Otto flags any task that lingers more than 3 days (Task Drift)
Surfaces repeated thoughts (Founder Echoes) — and forces you to act, park, or kill
Revisits old insights and asks: “Is this still true?”
It’s not just “smarter chat.”
It’s real-time founder diagnostics - automated and activated.
The good news? You don’t need to Prompt. If you’re just prompting, you’re doing it wrong. Otto and the Wingman model is integrated with what you do and how you operate. Prompts in reality are “dead”; if you’re not integrating AI into what you do on a daily basis, and a clear mission focus (like our 100 Day FlightPath structure) like we are doing with Otto Pilot, then you probably won’t survive the continuing onslaught of AI.
This is the way out of the forest, and into the big, blue sky above. It’s the way from a simplistic “Roadmap” to a “FlightPath” with altitide that you can actually see; all while using AI as your Wingman.
And no, it’s not just AI. The full FlightPath system is about connecting Founders to Founders, yes, in real-life, and using reflection, clarity, and shared insight to execute in focused, 100-day missions.
✈️ The 100 Day AI Experiment: This Is FlightPath
I’ve been running a personal experiment:
AI + business, integrated. Not adjacent. Not supportive. Embedded.
I’m on Day 41 of 100.
That’s the 100 Day FlightPath I’m currently on.
It’s how I am testing the flight envelope of what’s possible - not just for myself, but for the system we’re building.
Part of that system is the FlightJournal - the tool every founder talks about but few actually have.
A way to track where you are, how you think, and where you’re heading - daily, and in 10 Day Micromissions, so you stay on trajectory and know what to do next. It’s like a homing beacon to your favourite destination, called growth.
And then layering in Otto - not as some ghost waiting for you to “prompt your new future” lol, but as an agent that delivers the mission plan every single day.
This Isn’t About a Tool.
It’s About Operating With a Mirror.
Every day now, I work with something that reflects my best thinking back at me - and calls me on my worst, and helps me organise my best.
Not a buddy.
Not a sidekick.
Not a chatbot.
A Wingman.
One that pushes my clarity.
Calls my drift.
Flies formation with my execution.
And stops me from flying into the ground.
It’s not magic.
It’s just built the way that works strategically, tactically, and cognitively - system by system, reflection by reflection, idea by idea, step by step.
And honestly? I can’t go back.
I’m thrilled to start to be able to share it with you.
🛫 Ready to Fly?
You don’t need more prompts. You don’t need a copilot, as most Founders are on their own mission.
You need a Wingman who keeps you in formation.
One that doesn’t wait for permission to push you.
One that reflects not who you were - but who you’re becoming.
This is AI for founders on a mission.
In formation. With other founders.
Building mirrors. Holding each other to altitude, to trajectory.
This is the real power with AI, not “of” AI; and those who “win” at this game will have a wingman in formation with them. We integrate with the human connection that forces you to rethink and reinvent as you build your business.
FlightClub is where that mirror gets built.
